Q · Short answer

How does Best Muse Connectors rank connectors?

We rank connectors on seven criteria: the value of the job they do, how completely they do it, their safeguards, what they cost, how clearly the maker documents what they can and can’t change, how confident we are that they’re available, and how well they fit with other connectors. Every capability we list comes from a cited source.

Ranking criteria

  1. 1

    Job value

How important is the job the connector does, and how many Muse users have that job? A connector that helps every business get customers outranks one that serves a narrow niche.

  2. 2

    Completeness

Does it finish the job, or hand you homework? We favor connectors that take a task from request to result.

  3. 3

    Safeguards

Anything that changes the outside world — a website, a price, an email — should preview first, ask for approval and be undoable. Connectors that move money or publish publicly are held to a higher bar.

  4. 4

    Cost

What it costs to use through Muse, as published by the maker — including whether it needs a paid account with the underlying service. When a maker doesn’t publish a price, we say so rather than guess.

  5. 5

    Published clarity

Has the maker said what the connector can and can’t change in Muse? We reward specifics and never fill a gap with a guess. Many connectors are early, and their makers haven’t published details yet.

  6. 6

    Availability confidence

Is it confirmed live as a built-in connector, added by address, only announced, or reported by a single user? Unconfirmed connectors aren’t ranked.

  7. 7

Fit with the rest of the setup

How much does it make other connectors more useful? Docs, email and automation connectors score well here.

Category rankings can differ from the overall list

The overall top 10 asks which connectors are most worth connecting for the broadest range of Muse users. Category rankings ask a narrower question: which connector is best for this specific job?

That’s why a specialized connector can be #1 in its category without being #1 overall. GitHub is our top pick for developers, but #10 overall, because most Muse users don’t write code. Google Drive wins research without making the top 10.

How we review

Meta doesn’t publish an official public list of Muse connectors, so we start from public evidence: Meta’s announcements, makers’ own announcements and documentation, and independent trackers that compile those sources. We cite them on every review.

We only list a capability when a source states it. When a maker hasn’t said what its connector can do, we mark it “not published” and label example requests as things to try rather than confirmed abilities.

Our reviews are based on published documentation, not hands-on testing inside Muse. We say so rather than imply otherwise.

What “last reviewed” means

Every connector shows the date an editor last checked its evidence. It’s a stored date, updated by hand. We don’t run automated health or uptime checks yet, so “last reviewed” is not a claim that a connector is working right now.
